BeSafe Pregnancy Belt

When pregnant, everyone is concerned about the safety and wellbeing of the unborn child. Many are not aware that a misplaced belt can be a danger to the pregnant woman and the unborn child. A survey from Folksam and the Chalmers Industriteknik 2021 Foundation shows that as many as 4 out of 10 pregnant women place the seat belt incorrectly.

In the event of a collision, an adult weighs 3 to 5 tons. The baby is positioned in the front of the tummy and is thus exposed to high loads. To protect the baby from injury from the vehicle belt, BeSafe Pregnant belt therefore positions the lap belt beneath the pregnancy baby and over the hip bones. The BeSafe Pregnant belt does not interfere with the safety performance of the 3-point vehicle belt, but helps positioning the lap belt correctly to protect the unborn child.

Discomfort, caused by the belt being placed over the stomach during ordinary day-to-day driving, is avoided. The BeSafe Pregnant belt may be used from as early as the second month of pregnancy. The BeSafe Pregnant has been tested in accordance with ECE R 16.
